What is the fireproof mailbox?
The best way to protect your mail is to keep it out of the reach of a fire.
Fireproof mailboxes are typically made of steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. They can withstand temperatures up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 30 minutes without suffering damage. It’s important that your mailbox can stand up to such high temperatures because there are many ways fires could get started near your mailbox: a spark from a lawnmower hitting the ground close by; flames from nearby trees due to dry conditions; burning cigarettes being tossed into the trash can; etc. If a fire does break out in close proximity to your mailbox, you want it standing strong so that your mail will survive and be delivered on time!
